My Eyes, Lies

And my eyes lie to me
My mind tries to deceive
Everything thing it can recall
Why do things seem so much more small
Than they did when we were young
Everything seemed so much more fun
Now were old and all is dull
Why do we have to age at all –all all –all all

As we stand over the sink
Our sunken eyes they don’t blink
These dark lines weren’t there before
But be sure that there will be more
Showing up in a few days
Our whole life is in haze
Don’t know which way to go
Our smiles ran off with our soles

Don’t know where to turn,
We’ve forgotten everything we’ve learned

With our inner child we rage war
Trying the find the happiness we had before
We grew old and our hearts died
Our true self locked away inside
We don’t know what else to try
So we just sit here asking why
did we make them go away
Why couldn’t we just let them stay

Just close your eyes and listen to me
They are not lost you can set them free
You can get back the joy you once had
With your friend your mom and your dad

You are who you want to be
You can change but their is a fee
You have to smile and you have to laugh
you have to let go of the past
Good thing don’t come to those who wait
if there is something you want reach out and take
it not that hard get over your self
don’t be like everyone else

And my eyes lie to me
My mind tries to deceive
Everything thing it can recall
Why do things seem so much more small
